Tesla accessories and gadgets worth buying in 2026
By ReferCharge. Updated 2026-08-18.
This is a short list on purpose. Tesla accessory and gadget listings are an ocean of near-identical products, so instead of a store we keep one hand-picked item per category, each bought with our own money and given a version button for your exact car where fitment differs. Everything links to the maker's listing; nothing here is our own product. How we pick and test.
The cars this list was tested on
Fitment is the whole problem with Tesla accessories, so it matters which cars a recommendation was actually tried on. Between them these four cover both sides of the two refreshes: the Model 3 Highland change and the Model Y Juniper change.
- 2023 Model 3pre-Highland, 2017 to 2023Ours
- 2025 Model 3Highland, 2024 and laterBorrowed from a friend
- 2024 Model Ypre-Juniper, 2020 to 2024Ours
- 2026 Model YJuniper, 2025 and laterBorrowed from a friend
Hands-on use means the generation we own. On the borrowed cars we checked fit and clearance rather than living with the part, and where a card offers a version we have not personally fitted, we mapped it from the maker's own version list and opened the listing to confirm the model years it is cut for. That is fitment verification, not hands-on use, and we would rather draw the line than blur it.
The buying guides

The one accessory almost every owner buys. Which TPE set fits each generation, and why the Juniper set already includes cargo liners.

What Tesla actually requires from a drive, when a basic stick is enough, and when a portable SSD makes sense.

Teslas ship without a spare. What Roadside Assistance covers for a flat, and the plug kit plus jack pads that close the gap.

Three center screen sizes, how to tell which one your car has, matte versus glossy, and clean install tips.

Stop the rocker panel sandblasting before winter. No-drill sets mapped to the Model Y, Model 3 Highland and Model X.

The one job to start before delivery. Level 1 versus Level 2, outlet versus hardwired, which adapters you actually need, and planning cable reach.

Why the sub-trunk and the frunk need their own pieces, what Tesla's manual says about frunk drainage, and TPE versus carpet-backed.

No cradle, no vent slats, and some console USB ports are charge only. Where a mount can actually go on each interior generation.

What the factory glass already blocks, why the cabin still feels hot overhead, and the honest limits of mesh versus a rigid panel.

Why Tesla wheel edges mark so easily, how adhesive strips should be installed, and what curb damage they cannot prevent.
How to shop this list
Fitment first
Mats, liners, mud flaps, screen protectors and rim protectors all changed with the 2024+ Model 3 and the newest Model Y. Match the product to your generation before anything else; the cards below have a button per version.
Universal second
Jack pads, a tire kit and a Sentry drive fit every Tesla and never go out of date. They are the cheapest way to cover the gaps Tesla leaves, like the missing spare tire.
Big tickets last
Home charging gear costs the most and depends on your garage, panel and daily miles. Sort it before delivery if you can, but it deserves more research than an impulse add.
