Everything in a Tesla runs through one touchscreen, which collects fingerprints, sun glare and the occasional ring scratch accordingly. A tempered glass protector is a cheap fix, but Tesla has quietly used two different screen sizes across the years, so the first question is not matte versus glossy, it is which screen your car actually has.

Common questions
Are the 15 inch and 15.4 inch screens interchangeable for protectors?
No. The refreshed screens are not just slightly larger, the corner radius and bezel changed too, so a protector cut for a 2023 car sits wrong on a 2024 one. That is the whole reason the product card has one button per generation.
Matte or glossy?
Matte diffuses sun glare and hides fingerprints, which is why most Tesla owners pick it for a screen that sits under a glass roof. The tradeoff is a slight softening of contrast. Glossy keeps the factory sharpness but shows every fingerprint and reflection.
Does a tempered glass protector affect touch response?
A quality tempered glass layer adds around a third of a millimeter and the screen behaves normally through it. If you use the in-car games or draw on the screen you may notice it for the first day, then never again.
Any tips for a clean install?
Do it with the doors closed and the HVAC off so dust settles. Clean with the included alcohol wipe, pull dust off with the sticker, align against the bezel from one edge like a hinge, then press out from the center. Bubbles chase out with the squeegee; specks mean lift and re-sticker.
