Common questions

Do Teslas really need mud flaps?

The front tires throw grit at painted rocker panels and the leading edge of rear wheel arches. After highway winters, paint there can fill with chips. Flaps intercept that spray before it reaches paint.

Do these require drilling?

No. The sets linked here mount into existing fastener points in the wheel liner, which is the main thing to check whenever you buy flaps for a Tesla. If a listing mentions a drill bit, keep scrolling.

Will mud flaps hurt range or make noise?

At normal speeds the range effect is too small to see in the trip meter, and a properly torqued set does not flap or whistle. If you hear one after install, a fastener is loose.

What about the 2017-2023 Model 3?

The lineup on this card covers the newest Model 3 alongside the Model Y and Model X. For a 2017-2023 Model 3, look for the same style of no-drill set cut for the classic body; the fitment notes on the listing will say which years it takes.
