Reaching a Supercharger cable with a Lucid Air

By ReferCharge. Updated 2026-08-18.

The Air's charge port sits above the left-front wheel. Many Supercharger layouts put a short cable where a Tesla's left-rear port would stop, so an Air often has to pull deep into the space and may occupy the charging position associated with the adjacent stall.

Air and Gravity park differently

AIR

Left-front port

  • Pull forward to bring the inlet close to the post.
  • Short V3 cables create the hardest reach.
  • A V4 post has a longer cable, regardless of the cabinet behind it.

GRAVITY

Left-rear port

  • The inlet is positioned for the common Supercharger layout.
  • Native NACS means no Supercharger adapter is needed at a compatible site.

Lucid documents both port locations and specifically warns that an Air can extend into an adjacent stall in its public charging guide.

The least disruptive parking order

  1. 1Follow site signs and any marked non-Tesla parking instructions.
  2. 2Choose an end stall when one is free, since it can reduce interference with the neighboring space.
  3. 3Pull forward only far enough for a relaxed cable path without rubbing or stretching.
  4. 4If the cable cannot reach safely, move to another stall or another site.
  • End stalls can leave more room and reduce the chance of blocking the next position.
  • A longer cable helps access but does not identify a true V4 power cabinet.
  • Never drive onto a curb or place the cable under tension to make a stall work.

Magic Dock changes the adapter, not the geometry

A Magic Dock provides a CCS connector at the Supercharger, so an Air can use the site without carrying its own NACS-to-CCS1 adapter. The cable still must reach the left-front inlet. Lucid explains Magic Dock access and the CCS-plug search filter in its Air charging instructions.

No cable extension belongs here

This is a parking and site-selection problem. Use the end stall or a longer-cable site; do not add an unlisted DC extension between the charger and vehicle.
